About Alan Anthony

I began on the path of personal development in 1990 at the age of twenty-one. Having experienced some personal trials and tribulations as a teenager and young man, I wasn’t happy with my life and the choices I was making. I wanted more, so I changed.

I began to realize that the more effort I put into bettering myself and my life, the greater the results. It became clear quickly that not moving forward meant moving backwards. Stagnation meant regression. So I continued to work at bettering myself via spiritual and physiological training and practice which translated to happiness and contentment and an ability to achieve whatever goal I set out to achieve.

The process of spiritual and psychological growth and development has been gradual for me and I believe that it is life-long and requires continued effort and support. When I experienced personal coaching however, I learned that many changes could be made immediately and more efficiently with the help of a personal coach!

After twenty years as a successful business manager, owner, and entrepreneur having created multiple businesses, I decided that I wanted more. I wanted to help others find the same type of happiness, peace and contentment that I had attained. So in 2008, I began my professional journey into the field of personal development. For twenty years, through various spiritual and religious mediums, I have worked with many people and groups in my personal life, so that I may help to improve the quality of lives. Having always longed to do such work for a living, I stumbled upon the world of coaching and became a certified personal coach.

I have logged hundreds of hours training and coaching. I attended Erickson College and Coach University, the latter of which was founded in 1992 by Thomas Leonard, who is known as the “father of coaching”. Both schools are accredited by the International Coach Federation. I am a Coach U Graduate and have received coaching certification from Erickson College. I am also a member of the ICF (International Coach Federation).

Over the course of twenty years, I have spent thousands of hours attending various spiritual and psychological development groups, sessions, classes and talks and have read countless books on related subjects. All of this study, participation and effort have resulted in a happy, healthy and contented life. Through the powerful vehicle of personal and business coaching, I am able to help others find happiness, contentment and success and to achieve their goals and dreams.

Some of my other accomplishments and training include many years and countless hours studying and practicing Buddhist philosophies and principles. I was personally trained in meditation by Venerable Xin-Xing and continue to practice Buddhist principles in my daily life. I also have a strong belief in God or a Higher Power if you prefer. This belief coupled with my Buddhist practice has proved to be a tremendous source of strength for me. Along with my family, spiritual and psychological growth and development are at the top of my priority list.

I love animals and do my part to help those in need as I have been involved in animal rescue and assistance for twenty years. I also have two dogs of my own. In 2008, I watched a documentary called “Earthlings” that changed my life and I have been a vegetarian ever since, although I do not judge others for their food choices or push my choices on anyone else. After all, I too ate meat for thirty-eight years…and enjoyed it!

I exercise regularly and am conscious and careful of what I put in my body, as physical health is also an important part of my life. I believe that balance in life is important and thereby care not only for my spiritual and psychological condition, but my physical condition as well.

Over the last couple of years, I have also become heavily involved in the world of website creation and management having developed three websites, including this one. I am proud to say that one of them is ranked #1 with Google.

I hope this brief biography has offered you some insight into my history, beliefs and values. After all, coaching is a co-creative relationship between coach and client, so choosing a coach that is right for you is an important step in the coaching process.
